The newly elected President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, officially received his Certificate of Return during the handover ceremony held on February 5th, 2025, at the National Secretariat, No. 7 Park Avenue, GRA, Enugu.

The event, which marked a historic transition in the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, was attended by prominent Igbo leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, and members of the outgoing executive.

In his acceptance speech, Senator John Azuta-Mbata expressed profound gratitude to the Igbo people for entrusting him with the leadership of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization. He reaffirmed his commitment to unity, progress, and the promotion of Igbo interests both nationally and globally.

“Today is not just about leadership transition; it is about reaffirming our commitment to the Igbo cause. We must work together to defend our culture, strengthen our economic base, and ensure that Ndigbo have a strong voice in national and international affairs,” he stated.

The outgoing President-General, Nze Ozichukwu Fidelis Chukwu KSM KSS, officially handed over the instruments of leadership, commending the new administration and urging them to build on the achievements of the past.

The handover ceremony was a moment of unity and renewed hope for the Igbo nation, with attendees pledging their support to the new leadership in driving the vision and mission of Ohanaeze Ndigbo forward.
